The 3 Things I Wish Every New Tox Patient Knew (Before They Sit in My Chair)
Welcome! You’re curious. You’re excited. You’re nervous. You’ve (possibly) researched way too much. And now you’re here, probably thinking: “Please don’t let me look frozen / surprised / like I’ve had work done.”
Good news: I’m here to be your friendly co-conspirator!
Before we pop the needle cap, there are three things I want every first-time tox patient to know. Consider this your loving-but-slightly-unhinged public service announcement.
1. Tox Is Not a One-and-Done Personality Trait
You may love tattoos, just like we do. But tox is not a tattoo.
It’s way less of a commitment.
It wears off.
Slowly. Gracefully. Sometimes rudely faster than you’d like.
If this is your first time, your body is basically meeting tox for the first time and saying, “Hi, who are you and why are you here?” That means:
· Your results may not last as long as your friend’s
· You might metabolize it faster
· You may need tweaks
This does not mean it didn’t work. This does not mean you’re immune. This does not mean your injector failed you.
It means your face is doing face things.
Tox is a relationship, not a situationship. Sometimes it takes a couple visits to really understand each other.
2. “I Want It to Look Natural” Is Not a Personality, Either
I love you. I truly do.
But if you tell me, “I just want it to look natural,” I’m going to gently dig deeper.
Because:
· Natural to you might mean barely-there movement
· Natural to your best friend might mean zero forehead motion
· Natural to Instagram is… a whole other conversation
Your injector is not a mind reader. We need:
· Examples
· Preferences
· Fears (yes, all of them)
Do you want movement? How much? Do you love a smooth forehead but hate heavy brows? Are crow’s feet your enemy or your emotional support wrinkles?
Say it out loud. We won’t judge. We literally inject faces for a living.
3. You Will Still Have a Face (And That Is the Goal)
Repeat after me:
Tox does not erase your face.
It softens. It relaxes. It prevents you from aggressively furrowing your brow like you’re constantly solving a murder.
You will still:
· Have expressions
· Move your face
· Look like you
What tox does not do:
· Change your bone structure
· Make you look like someone else
· Magically fix skin texture, volume loss, or your ex’s emotional damage
If you walk out thinking, “Is that it?” — perfect.
The best tox is subtle enough that:
· You look refreshed
· People can’t pinpoint why
· Your face just seems… less tired of everyone
That’s the win.
Final Thoughts From Your Injector (Who Wants You to Trust the Process)
Tox is not about chasing perfection. It’s not about freezing time. And it’s definitely not about copying someone else’s face.
It’s about looking like yourself on your best, most well-rested day — even if you slept like trash and live on caffeine.
Ask questions. Be honest. Come back for follow-ups. And please, for the love of skincare, stop believing everything you see on TikTok.
We’ve got you. 💉✨
